Bouwers Undertakes Maintenance for KTMB's Railway Fleet
Bouwers Engineering has embarked on a significant project to conduct brake system maintenance for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad's (KTMB) Class 92 and Class 93 commuter trains. The maintenance initiative underscores efforts to uphold the safety and reliability of Malaysia's railway services.
The KTM Class 92 trains, consisting of 38 six-car sets, are electric multiple units (EMUs) introduced to enhance KTMB’s commuter network. Manufactured by CSR Zhuzhou, these trains have been pivotal in reducing urban congestion and improving passenger convenience. Similarly, the Class 93 EMUs, designed for KTMB's intercity Electric Train Service (ETS), feature 10 six-car sets built by CRRC Zhuzhou, ensuring efficient long-distance travel.
Bouwers Engineering’s expertise in brake system maintenance ensures that these trains operate safely and efficiently. Regular inspections, system tests, and component replacements are performed to maintain optimal braking performance under various conditions.
This partnership with the maintenance stakeholders reflects a commitment to advancing Malaysia’s railway infrastructure. As a key player in the local rail industry, Bouwers Engineering continues to support the nation’s transportation modernization goals, benefiting passengers nationwide.
